#MeetTheMuseum Monday!

Today’s museum board member: Connie Patterson

Welcome, Connie! Tell us about yourself:

I’m a mom of 7 year old twin girls, an Assistant Dean in The Patton College of Education, wife of the Athens Mayor, and friend to many!

Connie Patterson, OVMoD board member, and family!

How did you get involved with OVMoD?

Sara Hartman approached me, told me about the history of the museum and its impact in our community. I immediately wanted to be involved!

What is your favorite museum exhibit/program?

The big blue blocks are fun for all ages

What other museums do you enjoy?

We love COSI and the Works.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to travel, ski, host parties and spend time with friends

What do you like about our region?

Our community is a special place-the people really care about each other.

What makes you curious?

Watching our girls learn

Who is your STEAM idol?

Any woman scientist– we need more girls in science.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Someone who made the world a better place.

What is your favorite season?

I seek to cherish every day so in the winter I want it cold and snowy, in the spring I love the flowers, in the summer I want it hot so I can go to the pool, and in the fall I love watching the leaves change.

What’s on your bucket list?

I want to go to Fiji

What are your hopes for OVMoD in the future?

I’m excited to launch our capital campaign, renovate our new space and be a destination in our community that people travel to experience

Thank you, Connie, for your time and enthusiasm!
