Mary Ann Hopple is a retired middle school science teacher who has joined us as the Program Coordinator. As a science teacher, Mary Ann emphasized doing science instead of just reading about it. Her students did science projects to learn about the different topics that were being taught. Mary Ann especially enjoyed teaching about life sciences, particularly butterflies and other pollinators and their importance to all of us.
Mary Ann is a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an area of concentration in science. She has a Master in the Art of Teaching degree from Marygrove College.
In her spare time, Mary Ann enjoys traveling with her husband. The two of them tend to visit beaches, but they travel to other destinations as well. When home, she likes reading books, cuddling with her two cats, and trying new recipes.
