Teen Science Café

OVMoD’s Teen Science Café is part of a national network of similar programs. All Cafés are run by teens, for teens, with support from an adult facilitator. Cafés offer participants the opportunity to interact in a small group setting with a STEAM professional in our community. Plus, there’s always free food!

Bodies are Cool: Translational Science in Body Image and Eating Behaviors

We'll be looking at (and trying) some of the activities in evidence-based interventions to improve body image (and talking about why they work), talking about what translational science is and doing a demonstration in skin conductance data collection.

Jean Forney is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in body image and eating behavior. An Ohio native, Dr. Forney is an assistant professor at Ohio University where she conducts NIH-funded research and participates in the training of future clinical psychologists.
