PEOPLES BANK CONTRIBUTES $250,000 To the OHIO VALLEY MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY!
The Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery (OVMoD) is excited to announce a $250,000 contribution from Peoples Bank. The gift will support the development of the museum’s new permanent location at 67 Columbus Rd.
The Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery is a hands-on discovery museum that is committed to creating educational opportunities for children and youth in the region.

Headquartered in Marietta, Ohio with 76 bank locations in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky, Peoples Bank has a long history of philanthropic giving. Other recent community projects include gifts to Southeast Ohio Foodbank, Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio, Stuart’s Opera House, Facing Hunger Foodbank, and the Children’s Hunger Alliance. Peoples Bank also has a pending acquisition of Premier Bancorp, Inc., slated for September 17, 2021, that will add an additional 46 bank locations, giving Peoples Bank locations from Cincinnati, Ohio to Washington, D.C.
OVMoD co-founder and co-president, Sara Hartman, said, “I am blown away by the generosity of this gift! OVMoD is thrilled to partner with a community-focused entity like Peoples Bank to positively impact educational opportunities for children and families in our region.”
The bank will contribute $50,000 per year for five years, and the museum’s new exhibit hall will be dedicated as the Peoples Bank Exhibit Hall. Jen Parsons, OVMoD’s Executive Director, said, “We are so appreciative of this support from Peoples Bank. This contribution will allow the museum to further its mission of inspiring confidence in people of all ages to explore and discover the world!”
