Discovery Lab Workshops

Held on the 3rd Saturday of every month - Discovery Lab workshops at the museum typically focus on middle and high school-aged participants (we are also opening workshops up for adults) and cover a wide range of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) topics with an emphasis on hands-on exploration.

Join us on January 17th for some programming fun as we explore the Micro:bit, a tiny computer with A LOT of built-in gadgets!

Arduino Workshop - February 21

Join us for some programming fun as we explore the Arduino, a great microcontroller for Do-It-Yourself projects (http://arduino.cc). We will provide a hands-on introduction to the Arduino and its programming environment as well as some sample projects.

Hardware will be available for the workshop, but not to take home.

For those interested in further exploring the Arduino, information will be provided about online resources and links to a wide variety of available kits.

Discovery Lab - Makerspace

Join us on the first Saturday of every month for Makerspace! Pick a project and explore!
Focused on teens and tweens, younger museum visitors (2nd-4th grade) can also participate with an adult (for safety reasons). 
This is an open format, so you can show up any time between 10 AM and noon to work on a project.
Available for any paid museum visitor or museum member.
